Cars in Germany's Town Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police reported they were notified by a individual who discovered a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a release.

Police state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then located multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say early analysis suggest the fluid was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; authorities are presently not aware of any injuries in connection with the incident," they added.

City officials said they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the public for information.

An important representative stated the attack left him stunned and needed to be solved promptly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine victims by a assailant focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
